Severn Sunset Eco Farm Heather Johnson

Severn Sunset Eco Farm

Heather Johnson owns and operates Farm Yard Discoveries, a branch of her family farm, Severn Sunset Eco Farm, owned and operated by herself and her husband Andrew.  Farm Yard Discoveries aims to display real working farm livestock, and to teach children and adults alike about livestock, heritage breeds, and the critical importance of animal involvement in sustainable, local food production.  Located in Muskoka Ontario, Severn Sunset Eco Farm is a grass based small scale Organic livestock operation offering poultry products, grass fed lamb and goat, through a CSA marketing model.  The farm is home to heritage breed Shetland Sheep and several breeds of heritage poultry. With a formal education in horticulture and agriculture from the University of Guelph Heather has been involved in sustainable agriculture and farmer activism for the past 20 years.  The Johnson family are firm believers in local food production and independent food rights. As such, Heather and the rest of the Johnson’s are thrilled to have been participating in Lifestock since its inception in 2012.
